COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner is an exfoliating toner that contains AHA and BHA.
• BHA (Betaine Salicylate): oil-soluble, they act not only on the skin's surface but also penetrate deeper to cleanse pores and treat imperfections. Therefore, BHA are preferred for normal to oily skin and skin prone to clogged pores. BHA have natural soothing properties, as well as anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects, being beneficial for individuals prone to redness and rosacea. Caution: individuals allergic to aspirin may react to the BHA in this product (betaine salicylate), so it should not be used in case of aspirin allergy.
• AHA: are humectants, meaning they retain moisture, thus being preferred for dry or damaged skin. AHA are derived from natural substances. The combination of AHA and BHA allows for the exfoliation of imperfections without drying out the skin.
Key ingredients:
• Salix nigra (black willow) bark extract: naturally contains a salicylic acid-like substance, flavonoids, and phenolic acids, responsible for its soothing and antiseptic properties.
• Betaine salicylate: the combination of salicylic acid (BHA) and betaine, which acts as a gentle but effective exfoliant, leaving the skin soft and smooth.
